A. Calloway

A.B. Cal Calloway passed away November 8, 2010. He was 81. He was born January 6, 1929, in Mt. Pine, Arkansas.

Dad was a loved father of four.
He is survived by daughter, Pamela Roberts of Ft. Lauderdale sons, Brett and Mike and his youngest daughter, Kerri Cimino, all of Las Vegas.
He had five grandchildren, Hailey, Mike, Allie, Garrett and Sami.

He served in the U.S. Navy, Seabees and Naval Reserve for 21 years before retiring at Nellis A.F.B. in Las Vegas, where he made it his home. He cherished his time spent coaching youth sports. In the late 60s and 70s, he and a few friends started the Nevada Youth Soccer Organization, NYSO. He served as their first chairman of policy and appeals. He was always the one with a great joke and always more quick witted than most. He served his community in many ways but his most fruitful was serving as handyman at the convent of Our Lady of Las Vegas School as it paid off with fresh homemade breads, made by the Sisters that served the school and church. He was a member of the GermanAmerican Club and he was a member of the local B.P.O. Eagles Post, and a member of the American Legion, as well as VFW.

He will be missed by his legacy will continue in the memories of family and friends.
