A.F. Henriksen

A.F. "Ace" Henriksen age 86 of Las Vegas passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015 in Provo, Utah. He was born February 25, 1928 in Logan, Utah. He lived there until he was nine years old when the family moved to Downey in Southern California. He spent time in the National Guard, the Merchant Marines, and the Army. He was a medic in the Army during the Korean War. Later he served a mission to the Central Atlantic States Mission. After his mission he returned to BYU where he attended before his mission. He met the love of his life in 1957 and they were married that same year for time and eternity in the Manti Temple. They spent 57 wonderful years together. They settled in Las Vegas in 1966 where he was a successful contractor until he retired in 2001. He and his wife served an LDS mission to Calgary, Canada. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in many leadership positions. During his life he loved to travel with friends and family in the United States and abroad.
His brothers, Raymond and La Mont Henriksen preceded him in death. He is survived and will be forever remembered by his wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister Bonnie Baker of Pleasant Grove, Utah; his children and their spouses Scott and Carin Henriksen of Orem, Utah; Gayla Henriksen of Las Vegas, Nevada; Trina and Kevin Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada; Sonia and Nelson Holmes of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 with funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 10070 W. Azure Dr. Las Vegas, Nevada 89149. He will be laid to rest at 10:40 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada.
