Albert Cleo Maxson returned to patrol on July 15, 2012 after a long battle with health problems. He was born March 14, 1943 in Flagler, Colorado to Cleo E. and Frances A. Maxson.
He was the eldest of four children. He graduated from Minidoka High School in 1961 and shortly after joined the Navy. He remained in the Navy for 30 years, serving in Vietnam and on several ships. He was awarded several recognitions including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was one of the very few privileged to wear the black beret.
He was married to the love of his life Erlinda Ani on February 14, 1982 in the Philippines. Albert is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Russell Ani.
Albert is survived by his wife, daughter Juana, son Christopher, seven grandchildren which were the pride and joy of his life: Alyssa Oquendo of San Diego, CA, Albert, Lillianna, Antonio, Anthony Rodriguez of New Mexico, Kaden Maxson of Las Vegas, and Rusty Ani of the Philippines. He is also survived by 2 brothers, 1 sister, several nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and fellow seamen. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be as follows: Viewing on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 4:008:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, located at 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89102 with the funeral on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM, also at Davis Funeral Home burial to follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
The Family wishes to thank his Doctors, Susan his home health nurse, the staff at Life Care of Paradise Nursing Home and Nathan Adelson Hospice.
