Albertyne Blankenship Richard (AKA: Tyne) was born to William Albert and Virlilia Peoples Blankenship in Saline, Louisiana (Bienville Parish). Both preceded her in death.
Albertyne graduated from Shady Grove High School, Saline, Louisiana in 1955. After High School, she attended Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana from approximately 1955 to 1958.
During 1958, Albertyne moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and worked as a cashier, and was employed by Clark County School District as a Hall Monitor.
In 1960, Albertyne married Boisy Richard, Jr. of Altheimer, Arkansas and from this union they were blessed with three children Adrienne N. Pickens (Darnell), Antoinette V. Richard, Laurel, Maryland, and Byron L. Richard, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Albertyne was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served on the Usher Board. She was also a member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc.
Alongside her husband, Albertyne was an avid gardener and harvested many vegetables and fruit trees. Albertyne’s culinary skills were loved by all, and as a devout wife and mother she loved preparing meals for her family. Albertyne had a fond love for fashion and was always dressed to impress.
Albertyne was a loving and caring person, who always had a positive outlook on life. She was witty and known for her infectious smile.
Albertyne is preceded in death by her husband Boisy and daughter Adrienne, and her siblings, Ency Walton, Manola McShan, Johnny Blankenship, Wilbert Blankenship, Lester Blankenship and Jesserine Phillips. Albertyne is survived by her children Antoinette and Byron, 7 grandchildren: Ormond R. Ford, Breona Pickens, Kyniell Richard, DeOndrea Pickens, Braxton Richard, Colton A. Henry, and Shaunya Pickens, and 3 great grandchildren: Amyriah Pickens, King Ford and Serenity Ford. In addition, she leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
