Andres Villegas

On Friday, August 21, 2020, Andres Francisco Villegas loving husband, father of 13 children and grandfather, passed away at the age of 93.

Andres is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfredo Villegas, and Antonio Villegas; and two sons, Michael and David.

Andres was born in Van Nuys, California, to Andres and Camilla Villegas. He was a carpenter for over 20 years in Los Angeles, California. On March 19, 1977, he married Lidia M. Cruz (Villegas). They raised two children, Orlando and Yvonne. Andres had 11 children with his previous wife, Miquela Sanchez (Villegas).

Andres is survived by his wife, Lidia Villegas; his children, Andres Villegas, Norma Jean Villegas, Mario Villegas, Diana Navarette, Deborah Velazquez, Daniel Villegas, Edward Villegas, Ida Mae Burnett, Margarita Blair, Orlando Villegas, and Yvonne Vasquez; his sisters, Camilla Hammond and Raquel Brooks; 29 Grandchildren and 50 Great Grandchildren.

Andres had a passion for home and automotive improvements. You would often find him sketching his projects on his yellow note pad or reading a mechanic's book to work on his car. He also loved a "good" action-packed movie where he would end it a knee slap and a "That was a dang good movie!". Andres would start his day with a giant cup of coffee and the never absent pan dulce. He would read the daily newspaper from beginning to end or catch up on his recliner by watching CNN. He had a deep passion for music. It was developed early in his life and nurtured through the many sessions by singing along-side his siblings. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his commanding presence. He never met a stranger; his sense of humor often had a small crowd buzzing around him at any function. He was and will forever be remembered as an unparalleled man.

Visitation will be from 3 pm - 8 pm on August 27, 2020, at Davis Funeral Homes, 1401 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV.
