Aubrey Paul Cullen III, age 63, passed away unexpectedly in the arms of his daughter on October 27 2023, after bravely enduring a surgical complication.
The youngest of four children, Aubrey was born on July 2, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Frieda Cullen and Aubrey Cullen Jr.
Aubrey is survived by his three children, Gaius, Layla, and Scarlett. In his own words "I was born to be a father." To him, his children were the greatest accomplishment of his life. Therefore, it is by his role as a loving father that he would like to be remembered.
As a young man, Aubrey struggled with a drug and alcohol addiction. However, once his twin daughters Layla and Scarlett were born, he prayed to the Lord to remove this debilitating temptation from his life. From that point forward, his prayers were answered. By the grace of God his addictive tendencies were conquered. When inquired by others about his faith, he would say "I have lived my way, and the outcome was horrible. Once I began to apply the book of Proverbs and prayer to my life, everything changed for the better. The results speak for themself."
He was an incredibly driven and hard worker, and loved exercise and fitness. A passion that is carried on by his son, Gaius who is an image of his father in looks and kindess. His iconic humor lives on through his daughter Layla, who can tell a story in a way that only her dad could. His love for others is a trait that is shared with his daughter, Scarlett, who seeks to share the grace that she has received from Jesus Christ with those around her.
Aubrey had a personality that captivated everyone around him. To know Aubrey was to love him. He had a sense of humor that would have you rolling over in laughter, and a kindness that was unmatched. The last years of Aubrey's life were spent with his twin girls. Every day they spent with him was filled with laughter, joy, and love.
His family praises God that he has fallen asleep in the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, he will be missed dearly. You meet a man like Aubrey once in a lifetime.
