Boisy Richard, Jr. of North Las Vegas passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. He was 81 years old. Boisy was born to parents Boisy and Katie Lee Richard on September 21, 1934 in Altheimer, AR. He came to the Las Vegas area in 1953, and was a Laborer and Ironworker with Reynolds Electric for over 35 years, at the Nevada Test Site. Boisy was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as the Treasurer and on the Usher Board. He was also a member of the King Solomn Masonic Lodge # 2. Boisy enjoyed gardening, hunting and included his family in this pastime. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Albertyne "Tyne" Blankenship Richard; daughter, Antoinette (Byron) Henry of Laurel, MD.; sons, Larry Richard of Little Rock, AR., and Byron Richard of North Las Vegas; sisters, Herdext Mae Richard-Bess of SC.; Theda Bell (Scottie) Richard-Scott of Little Rock, AR., Vereastine (Tony) Richard- Joseph of CA., and Norma Jean (Willie) Richard-Iverson of Pine Bluff, AR., brothers, Murl (Carrie Ann) Richard and Elton (Carolyn) Richard, both of North Las Vegas, and James Richard of Las Vegas; 7 grandchildren, Ormond Ford, Breona Pickens, Kyniell Richard, DeOndrea Pickens, Braxton Richard, Colton Henry, and Shaunya Pickens, and great-granddaughter, Amyriah Pickens. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Adrienne Pickens and brother, Thurmon Richard.
A visitation for Boisy will be held on Wed., Feb. 17th from 5-8 pm at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd. The Celebration of Life will be Thur., Feb. 18th at 11 am at New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams, Las Vegas. Interment will be immediately following at Palm Downtown Cemetery.
