Bonifacio A Laserna

Bonifacio “Boni” was born on August 30, 1937, in the Philippines to Teodorico Laserna and Consolacion Abella (both deceased).

Early in his life, Boni received a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines. His thorough planning migrated the Laserna family to the U.S. in 1981. Throughout his years in the U.S., Boni thrived for a better life for his family and to enrich his knowledge. He ventured in various careers and studies: nursing, security guard, stock investment, and administration. Boni worked with the love of his life for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) for 10 years then retired in 2006.

On family, Boni married Yolanda “Yoly” Laserna in 1964; they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. To their union are four children: Nerissa, Erwin (deceased), Eric, and Neil. Boni was the best husband to Yoly! From the moment he opened his eyes in the morning, he planned the day with his love from groceries, cooking, appointments, shopping, trips, and family gatherings. Boni was the best Papa to their children! He was always forward looking, protective, organized, a disciplinarian, a researcher, and had a sense of humor he was not shy to share but came out unexpectedly. Boni loved to watch western, action, and crime investigation themed movies and TV shows. In their later years, Boni and Yoly attended Eucharistic Sunday on live streaming almost every week to practice their religious faith. They will always be inseparable!

Boni leaves to cherish his memories: his children - Nerissa, Eric & Michelle (daughter in law), Neil, and grandchildren: Rochelle, Paul III, Christian, Andre, and Celine. He leaves his sister and brother: Sofia Dellera and Vic Laserna. He leaves his closest niece, Silma Villasenor and a host of other relatives and friends.
