Carl Grove

Carl Grove, 83 of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012. He was born November 29, 1928 in Tyrone, PA. He served in the US Navy Band from 19501954 and traveled with Big Bands to pursue his career as a professional saxophone musician. He moved to Las Vegas in 1966, where he continued his career on the Las Vegas strip in many Las Vegas show bands and lounge acts. He formed his own band in the early 1980s called the Carl Grove Combo and he continued to actively perform locally for a wide variety of musical engagements. Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Yvonne Grove, who passed away in November 2011. Carl is survived by his brother Jim Grove from Bethlehem, PA., Daughters Carol Shaw of Nolanville, Texas, and Shelly Thomas of El Paso, Texas, Son Robert Grove of Sevilla, Spain and stepson Gib Ganschow of Las Vegas. Carl is also survived by 5 grandchildren Madison, Taylor, Tripp, Kayla and Darci.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada.
