Carmela "Millie" LoCascio
January 29, 1932 – May 26, 2024
Carmela LoCascio, known affectionately as Millie, was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. She was the cherished wife of Jake LoCascio and a devoted sister to Rosario Mastrosimone, Lena D’Agostino, Phil Mastrosimone, Margie Gunari, and Nancy Pella. She also held a special bond with her sister-in-law, Beatrice LoCascio. Millie's love extended deeply to her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Millie had a rich and fulfilling life. She dedicated her professional career to beauty, opening “Millie’s Beauty Salon” at just 18 years old as well as teaching cosmetology at Eli Whitney High School, where she imparted her knowledge and passion to countless students. However, Millie was much more than her career; she was a pillar of strength and wisdom for her family and friends.
A devout woman of faith, Millie’s life was a testament to her love for God, her family, and her friends. She was known for her wise counsel and generous heart, always ready to offer a kind word or a helping hand. Her home was a sanctuary of love, warmth, and laughter, where everyone felt welcome and cherished – and the best coffee flowed.
Millie had a passion for painting, finding joy and peace in her art. She left a legacy of hand-painted and handwritten cards across the globe. She also had a deep love for dogs – poodles specifically – and animals of all kinds, showing kindness and compassion to all living creatures.
Millie's presence in the lives of those who knew her was a precious gift. She leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness that will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
