Retired Lt. Colonel Carmen Annillo Jr. 86 Passed away Saturday December 30, 2017, Was a Nevada resident since 1970, Carmen was born second generation to an Italian immigrant family in North Bergen New Jersey to Carmen and Tessie Annillo on March 21, 1931. Carmen grew up in Union City NJ and graduated from Emerson High School where as a standout Football player, he was awarded a Football Scholarship to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. After Graduating and obtaining his Bachelor's Degree, Carmen Entered into a Career with the United States Air Force Becoming a Dedicated fighter Pilot who proudly served his country unconditionally, for 20 years, including two years in the Vietnam conflict where he was awarded an array of prestigious medals including the Bronze Star and Silver Star for his valiant efforts. After devoting 20 years to the United States Air Force, Carmen retired and immediately sought to further his education obtaining a Master's Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He then began his second career, being offered a position with CSN-College of Southern Nevada as Director of Veterans Counseling. Carmen continued with CSN for another 35 years and retiring with honorary Emeritus Status. In between career achievements, Carmen was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St Francis De Sales, and also participated as a proud member of the Las Vegas Italian American Club. Carmen was most proud of Family- Loving Wife of 66 Years, Joan Catherine Annillo, Twin Sons: John and Carmen, III, Daughters: Debbie, Dawn, Lynn and Joan Rose. His older brother John Annillo, who still resides in North Bergen New Jersey. Funeral Services are being arranged with Arlington National Cemetery.
