Carolyn Ann Lopez

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann Coons Lopez, age 80, on August 1, 2024. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. Carolyn was thoughtful, kind, and strong, and will be missed by many. 

Carolyn was born on July 10, 1944 in Houston, Texas. She attended Waltrip Senior High School where she received many academic accolades and performed in the Imperial Guard Drill Team as a drummer. She also enjoyed dancing and often fondly remembered her senior trip to New Orleans.

As an adult, Carolyn moved to several cities before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1978. She worked as a well-respected legal secretary for more than 40 years. She was known for her intelligence, kindness, and strong work ethic.

She loved keeping up with current events, talking politics, following football and other sports, and spending time with her daughters as the matriarch of a large and growing family. 

Carolyn is survived by her siblings Larry Coons [Gina], Steven Coons [Chris], Kenneth Coons [Beverly], her children and their spouses Terri Heger [Michael], Carol McCormick [Mike], Mary McFadden [Rick], Rebecca Lopez [Stacy], Jenni Rose [JL], her grandchildren Tera Kelly [DJ], Jamie Holland [Danny], Carina Heger [Remi]; Mandi Lynch [August 11, 1981 – October 27, 2021] [Marcus]; Rebecca McCormick [Keegan], Josh McCormick [Niki], Brianna McFadden, Ryan McFadden [Kate], Ian McFadden [Kodie], David Cash, Torie Cash, Tyler Cash, Serena Cash, Emily Lewis [Matt], Amber Contreras [Armando], Oliver Rose [Lindsay], Isabella Rose, as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on August 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146 a reception immediately following. All who knew Carolyn are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest well, Carolyn.
