Catalina Chan

Catalina Co Chan MD, 85, of Las Vegas NV, passed away on January 23, 2017. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a memorial service on Saturday, January 28, from 10 am -12 p.m., at the Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. www.davisfuneralservices.com.

Catalina was born in the Philippines on May 25, 1931. She attended Far Eastern University as a pre-med student. She graduated from University of Santo Tomas in 1957. Catalina then earned an additional degree in England at London University, where she studied Dermatology.

In 1958, Catalina married Henry and started her family shortly after. They spent their first 9 years in Manila, before Catalina went to London. In 1968, she moved to New York and settle in as an Anesthesiologist at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and opened the door for her family immigrate to the United States.

Catalina and her family eventually moved to New Jersey and established their home in Roseland in 1974, where they lived until 1999. Catalina was a well-respected doctor at Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville, NJ, where she worked for 27 years. In all Catalina practiced medicine for over 50 years.

Catalina and Henry retired in 2000 and settled into Las Vegas in a wonderful community called Sumerlin.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Henry; her son Conrad and wife Jenny; her son Alex and her son Jack and his wife Cindy; and grandchildren Thomas, Scott and Jenna. She is also survived by her brothers Vincente and Leoncio.
