July 13, 1958 — June 23, 2010

Cindy Lee HyitaRomero passed away peacefully from her long battle with cancer on June 23, 2010 at the home of her sister Diana in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by family that loved her dearly. Cindy was born on July 13, 1958 to George J and Joyce Hyita. She grew up in East Carbon and Moab, Utah. Cindy graduated from high school in Cedar City, Utah in 1976. She married Kyle Williams and had two children, Cheerstie Williams Gailey, and Max Williams. The marriage later ended in divorce. After many years of being together, she married the love of her life on the morning of her death, Don Juan Dylan Romero. Cindy spent time in Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. She drove a school bus in Silver Peak, Nevada, for nine years. She then moved to Las Vegas and worked for Healthcare 2000, Dr. Prabhu, and later Mediversal. During the last year of her life she worked with her sister, Diana at American Family Insurance.

Cindy loved life. She always made people laugh, and kept entertaining people up until the day she died. Cindy enjoyed the mountains, looking for arrowheads, camping, and above all she loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games, liked to do crossstitching, doing puzzles and spending time with family. Cindy loved to work and enjoyed her jobs, especially all the wonderful people she met.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Don Juan Dylan Romero daughter, Cheerstie Blake Gailey son Max Roxie Williams sisters, Diana Hyita Cecil Ralston, Debbie Joe Oveson, Claudia Pete Jensen, Lisa Wayne Potter, Gloria Mike Newsom, Terilyn Stacy Canning, and Debbie Jim Tice mothers Judi HyitaBishop, and Charlotte Eddie Hatch grandmother Amy Sorenson grandsons Joshua Wisden, Nicholas Gailey, Jett Gailey, and Mason Gailey, and one granddaughter, Naila Williams nieces Rebecca Waiters, Tatianna Waiters, and grandniece Nevaeh Mccullough along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her father George Hyita and mother Joyce Collins, sister Dana Jensen, and brother Roland Collard.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful medical staff at Nathan Adelson Hospice, the wound care nurses at UMC, and Maria, the hospice nurse who came to the house and comforted the family at the time of Cindys death

Memorial services to celebrate Cindys life will be held on July 2 at 3:00 pm at the Davis Funeral Home located at 2127 W Charleston Blvd in Las Vegas, NV. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers during these difficult months of Cindys illness.
