Crystal J. Ethridge, affectionately known as Joy, was born to Johnny and Ida B. Ethridge on July 18, 1974 in Tachikawa, Japan (both preceded her in death). Crystal was the fourth born of five close-knit siblings. At the age of twelve, she answered the Lord's call and remained a devoted child of God her entire life. She continued to grow in her faith as a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NV. Upon graduation from Vo-Tech High School, Crystal attended the College of Southern Nevada, where she earned an Associate's degree of Applied Science. Additionally, Crystal obtained her certification as a massage therapist and used her gifted hands to heal others. Crystal had many talents and skills. She was a gifted writer, artist, and mathematical wizard, who occasionally tutored. She also enjoyed cooking, oftentimes experimenting with new foods and recipes. While she had many other talents, her greatest passion of all was dance. She started in her early teens with ballet and tap, under Jasmine Gamal of A-Z Dance Studio. She later discovered the art of belly dance, and preformed as a member of Atistam Vala Belly Dance Troupe, alongside her younger sister Precious Ethridge, until her passing. Crystal was a JOY to be around. To know her was to love her. She had an infectious smile, a caring heart, and a beautiful soul. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.
In death, she was met by the Lord, her father and mother, Johnny and Ida Ethridge, her brother Johnny Ethridge,
as well as grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and beloved friends.
Crystal leaves to cherish her memory, her three siblings, Precious, Glen Kieth (Sam), Linfred (Shannon), her nieces and nephews, Sh'Qwana, Keva, Glen Jr., Justice, Johnny, Aniyah, Dareante, S'Vonte, Tishara and Leeah, two grand nephews and nieces, Soul, Neon, and Lyrik, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
