Daniel Cassels

Daniel Leon Cassels was born on August 2, 1933, to Charles Edward Ina Marie Cassels in Hominy, Oklahoma.
Daniel married Janet Rae in 1952 in Arizona, who preceded him in death in 2008. At the age of 78 he went to be with his sweetheart, Janet, on November 12, 2011 after many prolonged illnesses.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings: Lois Evelyn Myers, Lawrence Edward Cassels and Mary Elizabeth Cassels.
He is survived by his daughter Donna Rae and her husband Tim McDaniel and son Richard I Cassels, and two sons from his first marriage: Danny and Billy Cassels, four grandchildren and their spouses: Bonnie Mason Haycock, Mark and Caitlin Bradley, Jared and Jolene Bradley and Rebecca McDaniel, five great grandchildren: Ally and Brad Haycock, Scotlyn, Ethan, and Madeline Bradley.
Daniel worked for Cashman Cadillac for 40 years as a brake mechanic and later became the computer dispatcher.
He was a tournament pool player and won many trophies, enjoyed hunting, fishing, waterskiing and camping. He also earned his private pilot license. He and Janet square danced, went RVing and played bridge for years. He was Assistant Scoutmaster in the Scouting program with his son Richard. He became a good cook, did the dishes, all the grocery shopping, fixed the cars and just helped anyone that needed him.
He will be greatly missed and was loved by all.
His memorial service will be Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11 am at the Goldfield Hammer LDS Chapel in North Las Vegas north of Mojave High School
