Danny Bombarda passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, May 23rd 2020, surrounded by his family at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital. He returned to the Lord’s grace at the young age of 62 and is survived by his lovely wife Gemma and 3 beautiful daughters Geraldine, Tricia and Isabella.
Born on October 5, 1957 in Binalonan, Philippines to the late Moises and Rafaela Bombarda, Danny was one of ten children. At the age of 17, he decided to take a leap of faith and followed along his father on his venture to the United States and moved to Fall River, MA where he attained his first job as an orderly at the Catholic Memorial Home. In 1977, he joined the Massachusetts National Guard Reserves and in the following summer of 1978, Danny made his way to the west coast and moved to Carson, CA where he eventually started his board and care home business with the help of his parents. In 1992, Danny met the love of his life Gemma and married her in the following year in October 1993. They had their first child, Geraldine, in March 1994. Gemma and Danny had 2 more children, Tricia, the second oldest, in January 1998 and Isabella, the youngest, in February 2006. As his life continued in great development, due to certain situations, he decided to make a new life for his family in the summer of 2004 and made a move to Las Vegas, NV where he attained a position as a maintenance engineer, he eventually remained with the same company, the Rio Hotel (since 2006) until the day of his death. Danny was a hardworking, friendly and a family oriented man. He showed nothing but kindness and generosity to everyone that stumbled onto his path, he was a man of respect and wisdom and showed his love towards his family in many ways as he was a devoted father and loyal and loving husband. Danny shared his own life experiences as lessons for his daughters to enable them to succeed in life, as well as share his love for basketball and fishing with them. He raised 3 daughters of many talents, who have shined throughout their schooling, have asserted themselved in community service and in the last years of Danny's life, he watched his youngest pursue her love of basketball and became team captain at Burkholder Middle School where he attended games regularly. Danny had a love of traveling especially with his family, every year they ventured somewhere new, he didn’t care too much to take pictures of his adventures, instead he was a “live in the moment” kind of guy.
He was deeply loved and surrounded by the ones who loved him the most in his last hours. He has left many great memories for those who were lucky enough to meet him and to know his soul. He will be missed forever and never forgotten.
