David W Newman

David W. Newman, 56, beloved Husband and Father, passed away Feb 20, 2025 at home in North Las Vegas, NV. He was born May 11, 1968 in Galesburg, IL to John Newman and Margery Webster. He attended Galesburg High School and Western IL University, where he met wife, Joni Fountain. They were married Dec 30, 1989 and celebrated their 35th Anniversary in 2024. Dave joined the USAF in Aug of 1989 and served his country for 21+ years, retiring 3-31-2011. He continued working as a government contractor until he fully retired 12-31-2020. His favorite pastimes were gaming on the Switch and PS5, collecting knives, watches and movies and since moving to Vegas seeing shows like The Eagles and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The greatest joy in his life was his daughter Elizabeth; he was so proud of her accomplishments and happy that he was to be able to attend her wedding to Paloma in June of 2024.

He is survived by his wife Joni (Fountain) Newman, daughter Elizabeth Newman (Paloma), parents John Newman (Marsha) and Margery Webster, sister Jennifer Newman (Jill), in-laws John Fountain (Janet) and Jim Fountain (Melissa), niece Carleigh Fountain, nephew Logan Fountain, Goddaughter Nicole Schofield (Kyle) and other relatives (Aunts, Uncles, Cousins).

There will be a Memorial service with full Military Honors at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on June 2, 2025, promptly at 12:40pm. We ask that if you plan on attending, be there outside the Chapel by 12:30pm and DO NOT wear black. We plan on celebrating his life in COLOR. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in Dave’s name to a local Veterans Home or Veterans Cemetery in your area.
