David Gallegos Salcedo

July 25, 1964 — November 12, 2024

Las Vegas, NV

On November 12, 2024, we lost David Salcedo, a vibrant spirit who taught us the value of living life to the fullest. Born and raised in Santa Ana, California, Dave filled his youth with skateboarding and unforgettable experiences with friends. His move to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1992 not only brought him closer to his parents but also led him to meet Laura Carothers, with whom he built a beautiful family.

As a carpenter for Clark County until his retirement in 2020, Dave embodied hard work and creativity. His 60 years were marked by diverse phases, from dedicating himself to Christian street ministry for the homeless to embracing an adventurous pagan lifestyle and dreaming of a goth home renovation show. All of these endeavors reflected his genuine spirit. A pillar of the punk and goth communities in downtown Las Vegas, Dave made it his mission to connect with everyone and ensure they felt welcome.

His parties and unique coffin creations showcased not only his incredible talent but also his gift for bringing joy and laughter into others’ lives. Known for his wild sense of humor and lighthearted approach to life, he inspired those around him. Survived by his three children—Becca, Gabe, and Jake—and his sisters Debbie and Sylvia, along with his ex-wife Laura, Dave leaves behind a legacy of love and connection.

David's remarkable presence enriched our lives, and while his absence will be profoundly felt, his inspiring spirit will forever be cherished and remain in our hearts forever.
