Dee was born on April 20th, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and passed away on August 31st, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada, her home since 1967. She was known as someone that only wanted the best for everyone. Kind, thoughtful, vibrant, and fun-loving only begin to describe the person that she was, and those that were fortunate to have crossed her path are all a bit better-off because of it. What an absolute blessing it was to be part of her family! Her 5 sons were the pride of her life, and were given a childhood that only a selfless stay-at-home mother could provide, with freshly baked cookies and a cold glass of milk waiting for you after school, and encouraging participation in whatever interest you might have. After raising her kids, Dee decided to enter the work force and found employment at the MGM Grand hotel, unassumingly taking a job as a bus person and working her way up to become a hostess and eventually secretary to the restaurant manager. She retired after 10 years, spending the rest of her many years as a loving grandma, and cruising much of the world with her husband of 63 years, Chuck.
She is survived by her 5 sons, Bob (Joanne), Tony, Steve (Christiane), Gino (Lisa), and Tom (Denise) Wideen, as well as 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren (a 4th being born within hours of her passing), and preceded in death by her husband, Chuck.
Dee's legacy is showing how extraordinary an ordinary woman can be, and her acts of kindness and love of family will live on forever in all of our hearts. Rest in peace, Mom. It's time for you to finally take some time for yourself.
