Destiny Chavez

Former Blanca resident, Destiny Roselee Chavez, 46, passed away March 30, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Destiny was born on July 7, 1966 in Greeley, Colorado to parents Rosenaldo Maes and Francis Maes. Her hobbies included singing, she was known as Estrellita dancing, cooking, crocheting, traveling, sight seeing, listening to music by Dwight Yoakam and spending time with her grandchildren and loving family. Survivors include her two daughters Anjel Charles Benskin and Trina Chavez, both from Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her mother Francis Soria Maes of Johnstown, CO, six sisters Mercy Rivera of Johnston, CO, Irma Ward of Cottage Grove, OR, Bonnie Wall of Empirio, VA, Rosa Jose Balderas of Hale Center, TX, Domitilia Samuel Salado of Las Vegas, NV, Becky Montano of Loveland, Co, Two brothers Joey Vickie Medina Maes of Denver, CO, and Ron Medina Maes of Johnstown, CO, 5 grandchildren Drake Chavez of Alamosa, CO, Wilfredo Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV, Mario Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV, Fabricio Benskin of Las Vegas, NV, Christina Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV and daughterin law Jasmine Martinez of Alamosa, Co. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Destiny was preceded in death by her father Rosenaldo Maes, son Froylan Doni Chavez, granddaughter Latina Sanchez, sisters Annie Medina, Maryanne Ramos, and Nora Balderas, brothers Andy Medina, Rosenaldo Jr., Able Maes and Fred Maes. Funeral Services will be held at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa, Colorado.
