Dolores Goodwin

Dolores Ann Goodwin, 77 years of life, passed away on January 5th, 2020 due to her failing heart.

Dolores Goodwin was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to William “Bud” Davis and Virginia Davis on February 14th, 1942.

Dolores went to Hobbs High School where she met several lifelong friends that she kept in touch with up until the end.  While growing up, she lived on the same street in Hobbs as what would later be her future husband and sister in law.  For the time of two years that Victor was in the Army, she worked as a bookkeeper in Thompson’s Hardware where her father worked.  Her dream since childhood was to be a MOM. She married the love of her life September 2nd, 1963 and began her life of being a wife and a mother. In their younger years as a married couple Victor would work multiple jobs and Dolores would work by taking in foster babies and ironing to help pay for their life.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Virginia Ruff, William “Bud” Davis and her brother Larry Davis.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Victor Goodwin, three children Tamara Daley, (Spouse: Jim), Landan Goodwin, (Spouse: Nichole) and Jeff Goodwin along with three grandchildren, Austin, Evan and Seth Goodwin. Dolores loved her family more than anything else.  They were her whole life.

Celebration of life will be at 1pm, Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at Canyon Ridge Christian Church in the chapel located at 6200 W. Lone Mountain Rd. LV NV 89130 with Pastor Kevin Williams officiating.  There will be an open invitation for a reception immediately following the service at the Goodwin residence: 6432 Fisher Ave.

The family would like to thank her dearest friends, Linda & Mike Dale, Leni Pearce, Stacey, Tessie, the ladies at her card group and long list of others for being by her side for many, many years, for guiding her, loving her and forever being her friends.  The family would also like to thank Dr. Larry Allen.  He has been her doctor for over 25 years and has become more than just a doctor, he is family friend.
