Eugene Randall Maple
85, passed away December 4, 2011. He was a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born August 27, 1926 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Homer H.
Maple and Juanita Goff Skidmore of Harrisville, West Virginia.
He is survived by his children, Steven Maple and Susan Nunez, five
grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, and his brother Gerald Maple.
Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an ironworker, an entrepreneur, and
an inventor. He helped to construct military bases in the Aleutian
Islands off the Alaskan coast following World War II as an ironworker. He
founded Stone Crab Supply in Miami, Florida and became a successful
supplier of stone crabs and other seafood to restaurants across the United
States. He was also an avid inventor and holder of a U.S. patent.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11 at McCulloughRogers Raiguel
Funeral Home, 1200 East Main Street, Harrisville, West Virginia from 4:00
p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be held on Monday at
11 a.m. at the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery.
