Fern Ashby

Fern Tastad Ashby Nana 86, One May 20, 2014 she joined Clyde Ashby her husband of 67 years on their new journey. She died in her home in North Las Vegas surrounded by her loving family. She was the 2nd oldest of 5 children which all preceded her in death. Fern was born May 19, 1928 in Montana and later lived in Seattle, WA. After marrying Clyde they moved to Las Vegas in 1953, moved back to WA in 1971 then chose to travel the country in their motorhome in 1991. They traveled for approximately 10 years seeing places like the Golden Pond, Nassau, FL to watch the shuttle take off, The Smithsonian Institute, Washington DC, Mount Rushmore and Albuquerque, NM for the Hot Air Balloon races then settled down in AZ and Las Vegas, NV. Nana was feisty, funny, and a selftaught financier, the matriarch of our family. She loved spending time with her family, played the piano and guitar by ear, played bridge, rode bicycles with a friend in marathons and was a true friend to many. She wasnt afraid of modern day technology either she had 3 computers and was always on Facebook. Nana was survived by her daughter Kandi Darling David, granddaughters Dionna Jensen Don, and Gaea Tipton, great grandchildren Joshua, Danielle, CJ and Mariah, and great great granddaughter Summer. Nana, you are loved deeply and will be missed greatly.
