Floyd Logan Jr. 78, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 13, 2013. Floyd Logan, Jr. was born on July 26, 1935 in Columbia, MO to Floyd Logan, Sr. and Ollie Mae Herndon.
Floyd joined St. Paul Methodist Church at an early age. He graduated from Douglas High School. Floyd had an illustrious career. He retired after 26 years as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for the United States Post Office retiring after 15 years of service. After retiring from the Post Office, he went to work for the Riviera Casino in Blackhawk, CO until he moved to Las Vegas, NV. There Floyd went to work for the Clark County School District until he became ill.
Floyd married Kay McCall on February 3, 1968. They shared 45 years of marriage together. Two children were born of this marriage. Anthony who preceded him in death, and Darren A. Logan who misses his dad immensely.
Floyd loved gardening and working in the yard. While living in Denver, his yard was the envy of his neighborhood. He enjoyed movies, among his favorites being B movies and scifi. Floyd also enjoyed sports. One of his favorite teams was the Denver Broncos for which he owned season tickets. Another of his favorite teams was the Missouri Tigers. Floyd enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren as much time means in short spurts. He loved them very much.
When Floyd and Kay moved to Las Vegas, they united with Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Floyd served diligently as a deacon until his health began to fail, but he continued to attend services as his health permitted. Floyd will be missed greatly by his Victory Church family.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memory his wife Kay and son Darren Leslie, both of Las Vegas, NV sister Marilyn Marshall of Columbia, MO nephew Steven Marshall Patty, niece Arnetta Marburgh both of Kansas City, MO niece Belita Marshall of Tulsa, OK four grandsons Cpl. RayVann Logan, Marine Camp LaJune, NC Talon Logan, Houston, TX Irie and David Logan, Las Vegas three great nephews, one great niece and one great great niece of Kansas City, MO. Floyd also leaves adopted in his heart, three daughters Alyce Y. Keys, Brenda Keys Les Perry of Denver Jol Clayburn of Atlanta, GA three granddaughters Delyce Collins John, Lanyce Keys, and Alyce L. Keys one greatgrandson Jayden and two greatgranddaughters Imani and Emyia all of Denver, CO and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family, The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.
