Gary (Gerhard) Reeb, age 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 13, 2023 after a courageous battle against cancer. He would like everyone to know that his work here on earth is done.
Gary was born on February 8, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Karl and Barbara Reeb. After graduating from Rogers High School in Michigan City, Indiana, in 1978, Gary proudly served in the United States Army. He earned his degree in Agronomy from the University of Hawaii and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to begin designing and building golf courses, including the Canyon Gate Country Club, Shadow Creek and TPC Las Vegas. Gary worked for over 35 years as a Construction Surveyor and Supervisor for multiple organizations. His work can be seen throughout the Valley and the Strip, including the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, City Center, the Palazzo, the Venetian, Allegiant Stadium, City National Arena, Las Vegas Ballpark, T-Mobile Arena and his magnum opus, the MSG Sphere.
Gary earned his PGA Q-card and participated in the Ben Hogan/Nike Tour, a PGA Developmental Tour in the
1990’s. Gary was passionate about playing golf and enthusiastically supported his beloved Green Bay
Packers, UNLV Rebels and Vegas Golden Knights, who won their first Stanley Cup an hour before he passed.
Gary’s favorite place to be was his house, where in his backyard he created a small waterfall that became an oasis for birds and bees, a place to grow his beloved roses and contemplate God’s natural treasures. He had a great sense of humor and cared deeply about his family and friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents but is survived by his brother Karl (Suzie) Reeb of Anaheim Hills, California; Nieces Nicole McCarthy of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Casey (Mykey) O’Neill of Plano, Texas; Grandnieces Isabella, Emerson, Harper and Kaelyn; Soulmate, Gina Cavallaro of Alexandria, Virginia; Stepdaughter Tara (Clint) Smith of Las Vegas; and many close friends in Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Michigan City, Southern California and throughout the country who will miss him deeply.
