George Ayoub, 87, passed away November 15, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Ford City, PA, on Feb. 22, 1928, grew up in Steubenville, Ohio and moved to Las Vegas in 1958. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sara, to whom he was married 67 years, son John Ayoub, daughter, Jeannie Ayoub, nephew Jeff Flowers, grandchildren Bobby Ayoub, Joey Ayoub, and Tommy Ayoub, great grandchildren, Joey B. Ayoub, Anthony Morabito, Michael Ayoub, and Ariana Starita, and great, great grandchild, Joey C. Ayoub. His great grand-daughter, Summer Nelson, preceded him in death.
George was an independent, self-sufficient man who was loved very much by his family and he always spoke of them with a great deal of pride. He was very generous to his family, friends, or anyone in need and was a long-time contributor to the St. Jude's and Toys for Tots charities.
George was a retired casino supervisor; his gaming experience began in 1958 at the Fremont Hotel; he also worked at the original Desert Inn and Sands Hotels, the Golden Nugget, and later retired from the Mirage Hotel. He was a member of the Las Vegas Country Club in the ‘80s and 90's and enjoyed playing poker after he retired.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., Dec. 19th at 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas. NV 89146.
