Glenn Sheriff

d. August 18, 2010

Glenn J. Sheriff was born in Homer Village, Mich., to Charles and Jessie Sheriff, July 5, 1911, and passed away Aug. 18, 2010. Glenn celebrated his 99th birthday July 5, 2010. He had lived most of his life in California and had been a salesman for McKesson Liquors. He also owned a police escort service in Southern California. Glenn arrived in Las Vegas about 1979, to be an automobile salesman for Cashman Cadillac. It was here he met and married his now deceased wife, Ruth Cohen Sheriff. Both traveled extensively and were very fond of the Mississippi River Cruises, of which they went on five of them. When Glenn retired in approximately 1979, he bought an airplane at age 70, and learned to fly out of North Las Vegas. He was still flying the airplane until he turned 90 and was an instrument pilot of a single engine Bonanza. He and Ruth flew back and forth to San Diego, where they owned a beautiful condominium. Glenn also decided to learn to ski at age 83 he went to Steamboat Springs to try it out. Glenn was retired from the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was an active Mason of the Oasis Lodge, Las Vegas, an active Shriner of the Zelzah Temple, and was also a Jester. Glenn outlived all of his adopted families, but made many friends here in Las Vegas over the past 25 years, where he and Ruth lived in Spanish Oaks. Glenn is survived by his dear friends, Gib and Jacqueline Oswald. At Glenns request, no services will be held.
