Harold Gottlieb Cord Nuoffer II (named after his great grandfather) was born on September 27, 1969 in Wayne, Michigan to Carol (LaLonde) Nuoffer & James Mezger Nuoffer. He was baptized into the Christian faith at All Saints Lutheran Church in October 1969. In November 1970 the family moved to Bogota, Colombia, South America, and in 1974 moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he graduated from Bonanza High School, class of 1988.
He immediately entered the Marine Corps with Basic Training at Camp Pendleton in California. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and in Kuwait during the Gulf War. Following his discharge in 1992, he became part of the Marine Corp Reserves.
He attended Pasadena City College, transferring to Valparaiso University. Cord graduated in 1998 with a degree in Accounting. He was student body president in his senior year and was a brother in Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He remained a true follower of “Valpo” and his Phi Kappa Psi fraternity brothers, being instrumental in the construction of the new Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house.
Following graduation, he returned to Southern California and married Mari Florence in 2000. His only child, Katharine Florence was born in February 2003.
Cord was a certified member of both the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He returned to Las Vegas in 2021 and was employed by LCG Advisors and most recently PNC Bank as an examiner.
He was active in his church, Salem Lutheran, Glendale, California and sat on the Endowment Committee. He was also a very active member of the Glendale Kiwanis Club. After returning to Las Vegas, he became a member of, and active at, Faith Community Lutheran Church and enjoyed his membership in the Las Vegas Kiwanis Club. He was kind, generous with his time, talents and treasures, helped those in need, and was a true believer in his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was predeceased by his father James Nuoffer, his sister Catherine (Shanks-Harris) Ramsey, his aunt Linda LaLonde, and his dad Terry Shanks. He is survived by his daughter Katharine (London, England), mother, Carol Shanks of Las Vegas, sisters Christina Jo “CJ” (Shanks) Miller (Steve) of Las Vegas, Connie (Shanks) Torres (Bobby) of Spanaway, Washington, Marci Nuoffer of Las Vegas and Kristi (Nuoffer) Bower (Marc) of Broomfield, Colorado; brother-in-law David Ramsey of Las Vegas, uncle Jerry LaLonde of Commerce Township MI, aunts & uncles: Ronald & Marilyn Shanks of Las Vegas, Sandra (Shanks) & Otis Stone of Overbrook, Kansas, 14 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and a myriad of cousins.

Viewing will take place on April 5th from 4pm-7pm at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 South Rainbow Blvd. Service will take place on April 6th at 11:00am at Faith Community Lutheran Church, 3505 S. Town Center Drive. Committal will take place on April 8th at 12:00 noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City.
