July 13, 1941 in place called Tallulah, Louisiana God sent a precious gift into the lives of Howard and Marie Jones. That gift was a precious baby boy. They named him Henry. On June 26, 2011, in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada God called his precious son home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marie Jones, two brothers, Howard and Perry Jones, one sister, Dorothy Bowser and one daughter, Deadre Amos.
Henry was the 3rd of five children born to Howard and Marie. His parents died when he was very young. He was reared in Tallulah, Louisiana by his maternal grandparents Tom and Polly Bowser. They also preceded him in death. As a child and young man, Henry attended St. James A.M.E. Church and public school in Tallulah. He was a quiet and fun loving person. His grandchildren said they never saw him angry and he could always make them laugh.
Hank as he was called by friends and Lil Brother as he was called by family, moved to Las Vegas in 1959. He worked in the Hospitality Industry at various hotels in various positions but mainly as a bartender. He married Virginia Hicks in 1962. To this union one child, Patricia was born.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughters Cassandra Rooks, of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Ann Hicks of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lisa and Julia Bass also of Las Vegas, one sister Geraldine Jones Robinson, of Tallulah, Louisiana, one aunt, Orline Williams of Las Vegas, Eight grandchildren, twelve greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
