Howard Howie Rothstein, aged 81, passed away on March 12th, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his daughter, granddaughter, son in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Howie was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served honorably in the Air Force as a radar technician, from 19511955. He was an electrical engineer by trade, plumber and mechanic by choice. Howie loved tinkering in the garage or basement, working on cars, bikes, household appliances and anything mechanical or with a motor.
Some interesting facts of note:
Howie could fix anything with a box of toothpicks. He once mentioned that he wanted to write a book titled, 1001 Uses for a Toothpick. Unfortunately he never got around to writing it.
Howie loved cooking, especially Chinese food, and once took cooking lessons from a Chinese woman named Mrs. Lam
Howie had 2 left feet, yet that didnt stop him from taking ballroom dance lessons with his wife, Sondra, so he could dance at his daughters wedding
Howie, his wife and daughter all had the same birthday, August 2nd, which is something like a million to one chance.
Howie made such a mark in this life and his intelligence, personality, huge heart and dry sense of humor touched all who met and loved him.
Howie will be laid to rest at the Southern NV Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, on Monday, April 7th, at 2PM, where the color guard will present the flag to the family.
