Irene Alvera McClaflin, 91, a retired waitress of Las Vegas, passed away January 21, 2017. She was born in Swift County MN, and was a 56 year resident of Nevada. Irene and Gil moved to Las Vegas in 1961 to help build the Nashville Nevada club. Irene began her waitress career at the age of 20 at the Bison Hotel in Fargo, ND, and continued working as a waitress until she retired at the age of 76. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents Midal and Mable Monson, husband Gilbert C. McClaflin, her five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her four children, RoJean (Bill), JoAnn (LeRoy), Sandra (Stefan), Donald (Cathy), two sisters, Darlene Holien, and Mavis Anderson; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 1:00 pm at 7136 Southpark Ct. Las Vegas, NV 89147.
