James Edward Aldonis, 74, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on December 18, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.
James was born on 1/21/44 to Alice and Randy Aldonis of Lawrence, MA. He went to elementary school at St. Patrick's and Central Catholic High School and Lawrence High School for graduation in 1962. He enlisted into the United State Air Force on October 29, 1962. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Service Award and Outstanding Unit Award. He was honorably discharged on 11/10/1966. He was a United States Air Force Reserve until 10/28/1968.
He moved to Las Vegas, NV in the fall of 1970. He worked at the Las Vegas Club Casino where he met fellow employee Joyce Eleanor Sobie. The two dated, fell in love and later married on October 9, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV at the Little Church Of The West. They shared their Roman Catholic faith, a blended family, their love of bowling, playing bingo and of course they enjoyed Disneyland and Disney World. Also traveling around the country visiting friends and family to share their love for all. Jim also enjoyed golfing and was a scratch bowler; he even bowled an official perfect score of 300! He enjoyed playing poker and pinochle with his friends at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center. Jim loved eating lobster, scallops, pasta(spaghetti and meatballs), Tomato Sausage and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. He worked in the gaming industry for 46 years in Nevada and Mississippi. The most recent being at the MGM in surveillance under Ron Buono whom he respected and loved. Even though he was officially retired, he loved working part-time with everyone there at the MGM.
Celebration of James' life will be 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Friday 12/28/18 as well as from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday 12/29/18 at Davis Funeral Home on 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. A Roman Catholic Vigil Service will be at noon on Saturday, 12/29/18, also at the Davis Funeral Home. It will be officiated by Father Dave Casaleggio (Retired Priest). There will be a Military Honor Guard and Flag ceremony following the Vigil Service on 12/29/18.
James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce, and his parents, Randy and Alice Aldonis.
James is survived by his children (youngest to eldest): his daughter Debbie, her husband Jason, their children Darrah and Daisa, his son Jimmie and his wife Deb, their children Angelique and Joshua, and their grandchildren, Bailee, Mike, Alea, Sydney, Braeden, Ezekiel, Kenzie, and Maizie…his son Wayne and his wife Jeanne, his children, Dawn and Bradley, and grandchildren, Cohen, Kambria, Hudson, and Eli…He is also survived by his sister Susan and husband Bernie, brother Stephen wife Paula, brother Edward and wife Liz, sister AnnMarie and husband Bob, and brother Matthew and wife Kim and their families. Also, step-father Thomas Pendergast. Jim has 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

James was a humble, selfless, awesome Christian man with a great sense of humor, and an even greater love for life, friends, and family. He was an awesome Dad! Papa! Brother! And Friend! Love You Forever!!!
