James Allen Sr.

James Wood Allen was born on May 28 in the year of 1929 to Isham Miller Allen Jr. and Mayme Mildred Wilson Allen in Cynthiana, Kentucky, Harrison County. He grew up with 3 other brothers of which 2 have preceded him in death Charles Allen and Donald Allen, and 1 brother who now lives in Dayton, Ohio William Allen. James Allen proudly served in the Military of the United States Air Force, where he served for 13 years, 3 months, 22 days. Of those 13 years he was stationed in Korea for 2 years, 1 month, 2 days. He was proudly decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. While in the Military he married Melder Marie Roy and thru their union 3
children were born.

James Allen leaves to treasure his memories 2 sons: James Allen Jr., who lives in Louisville, Kentucky and Darnell Gene Allen who in 2010 preceded him in death, 1 daughter Phyllis Benjamin, who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, 7 granddaughters Patricia Guidry, Demeitria Allen, Danielle Allen, Danita Allen, Felicia Benjamin, Schekeitha Benjamin and Jerrica Manaway, 5 Grandsons James Allen III, Demeitrius Allen, Terrance Allen, Romney Allen, Caleb Allen, 35 great grand kids and 7 great, great grand kids. James Allen also is survived by a host of nephews, nieces and friends. James Wood Allen gracefully departed this life on August 11, 2013.
