CWO 4 JAMES SNYDER U.S. Army, Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 James G. Snyder ret., passed away, Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas. He was born May 22, 1945, in Plainview, Neb., to Paul and Mary Lou Snyder. He graduated from Groveton High School in 1963. Jim served in the United States Army as a Huey and a Blackhawk helicopter pilot and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several metals, including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Metal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Vietnam Service Metal with one Silver Service Star. Jim was also a member of the Vietnam Helicopters Pilots Association. Jims numerous skills included working with wood and if it wasnt broke and didnt need to be fixedhed make it better Jim is now teaching the Angels to Fly. Jim is survived by his wife, Becky Ann Snyder children, Julie Ann Werner and Adam Eugene Werner his second son, Michael Polier and granddaughter, Arianna Ann Polier, the love of his life, all of Las Vegas his brother, Eugene Snyder of Camden, S.C. and mother, Mary Lou Snyder of Norfolk, Neb. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Snyder. Memorial service is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89102.
