Janet Halloran - Costner (Jan) who loved to be called Mommy, Mama, Big Bad Mama, by her children, and Gram & Grandma by her grandchildren, departed her loving family at the early hours of Monday, October 23, 2023, suddenly after a courageous battle with oral cancer.
Janet was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 20, 1956, to the late John “Jack” Halloran and Joan A. Halloran.
Janet was mother to Timothy Vazzana and Janice Vazzana. Janet raised her children with love and devotion in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 1992 to present along with her loving husband, Samuel Costner of 43 years. Janet worked as a phone operator for 27 years and was known for her infectious laugh, dedication to her family, and fiery spirit. Her hobbies included, playing bingo, decorating her home, and giving to others selflessly.
Janet is survived by her husband and children along with her grandchildren, Kaylee - 16, Hunter - 9, Maddison - 7, her brothers, Jack Jr. (Karen) Halloran, Tim (Karen) Halloran, her sister Margaret Halloran, her nieces and nephews, Jamie (John) Wiora, Michael (Gina) Halloran, Robert Halloran, Patrick Halloran, “Jack III”Halloran, Lauren (Christopher) Marusarz, & Allison (Brad) Meyers. Along with her long time friends she considered her family and sisters MaryAnne Gerdow & Donna Vaccaro.
Janet is preceded in death by her brother Michael Halloran & twin sister Janice Halloran.
