“I am free to continue to love you as I always have.”
On Sunday, August 15, 2021, John Bega Alfonso, loving son, brother, friend, and partner, passed away unexpectedly of pulmonary embolism at the age of 49 in Las Vegas, NV.
John was born on June 1st, 1972 in Brooklyn, NY to Irma Mayra Williams and John Bega Alfonso Sr. He became a fearless investor who dabbled in real estate and stocks. John was known to be a model employee, a perfectionist. Nothing could stop him from accomplishing his goals and dreams.
He had a deep love for his family. He was an exemplar son, who was attentive to his parents, Irma and Henry Williams. In any given opportunity, he would express to his parents his love for them. John also has a son, Samuel Gist. John loved his son more than words could describe. They shared a loving relationship.
On May 18, 2021, John and his girlfriend of many years, Tracy Robinson, became domestic partners. John was a loving partner to Tracy and a dedicated family man to her children: Israel, Ayanna, and Alexandra. Together they shared countless travel adventures and created endless memories.
John had many passions. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of music and a remarkable talent for composing. His words flowed swiftly from his heart to his hand, to his pen and onto paper, creating art. He enjoyed playing video games, playing pool with his friends and coworkers, and watching football. PATRIOTS FAN FOR LIFE! Our dear John was also an animal lover. He was dubbed “the animal whisperer” due to his incredible connection with animals. Through his shared interests, he connected with many and formed lifelong friendships.
John was everyone’s sun. His smile was contagious, and his presence brought joy. John’s friends were family to him, and he was a loyal brother to them. He loved them for who they were and cared about them in the purest way. He wished the best for them, without guile and without asking anything in return. John made everyone feel free to be themselves around him, and he brought happiness to everyone.
He was a shining star with endless possibilities. He had a gift to make people laugh and feel special. He was our prince, pride and joy. We will forever reminisce his ever-present smile and the warmth, depth, and intelligence behind it. John’s legacy will forever live on in our lives and hearts. We love you John, may you rest in peace.
