Henderson

John Kevin Rose, 75, of Henderson, passed away on August 26, 2020 in Henderson.

John Kevin was born in Pittsfield, MA to John and Alice Rose on December 24, 1944.

John, also known as Kevin to family and friends, grew up in Dalton, MA, graduating from Wahconah Regional High School in 1962. After completing two years of technical school and beginning a career with IBM, John served in the United States Army, earning a National Defense Service Medal and a Sharpshooter Badge. There, he also met his wife, Ileana Cintron, who gave him three sons, John David, Joseph Kevin, and James Anthony. After honorably discharging from the Army, John left IBM to help grow a company called Storage Technology Corporation. As the company expanded, John moved to California to manage the company’s west coast operations. John then tried his hand at sales, working for Phoenix Leasing for a short time before retiring at the age of 46. Upon retiring, John moved to Henderson, NV in 1991, to pursue his passion of bass fishing. In addition to winning numerous fishing tournaments, John caught the largest small mouth bass ever caught on Lake Mohave. As his fishing career wound down, he began pursuing billiards, a passion he developed during what he called a “misspent youth.” With the pool leagues put on hold, John practiced at home right until the day he passed.

John is survived by his sons John, Joe, and Jim, sister Jody Donald, and grandchildren Abigail, Gavin, Joseph, Jordin, and Juliana.

Memorial services will be held at a later date to be determined.
