He is survived by his Mother: Stephanie Marr With Partner Lisa La Mar, Father: Daniel Marr, Siblings: Christina Marr Clark, Jennifer Marr, Nieces: Zoey Garcia,Teagan Clark, Jazvin Stapleton Marr, Nephews: Zacharie Marr, Gage Marr, Adain Clark, Landon Clark, Josiah Garcia, Peyton George, and Uncle: Jonathan Wolford .
Jonathan was married to Lenny Obillio Marr on July 23, 2010 in the Philippines and their daughter, Leighanne Jewelle Marr, was born February 21, 2013.
Biography
Sergeant Marr was born on 28 March 1987 in Denver, Colorado. He enlisted in the Marine Corps April 2005 and was sent to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California on 13 June 2005. After completing Boot Camp he was sent to Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California. He completed Marine Combat Training as a squad leader.
Following Marine Combat Training Private Marr was sent to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to conduct Basic Electrician Course. During MOS school, Private Manwas promoted to Private First Class and completed the course as a squad leader.
Once PFC Marr completed Basic Electrician Course, he was sent to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 Okinawa, Japan. After getting promoted to Lance Corporal he was placed as the Training NCO for Utilities Platoon. In March 2008 Lance Corporal Marr was deployed to Iraq. On 2 July 2008 Lance Corporal Marr was meritoriously promoted to Corporal. Corporal Marr returned from Iraq with a successful tour on 19 October 2009.
Soon after returning from Iraq, Corporal Marr was given orders to report to 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, California on 14 January 2009. On 23 October 2010 Corporal Marr was sent to Afghanistan to support Alpha Surgical Company, 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group as the Lead Electrician. Corporal Marr returned from Afghanistan in March 2011 with a successful tour.
In June 2011 he was sent to Combat Logistics Battalion 15, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group to support the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the lead Electrician. Corporal Marr was promoted to Sergeant on 1 August 2012. Sergeant Marr deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 15 on 17 September 2012 where he was embarked on the USS PELEIU LHAS. During the deployment Sergeant Marr completed multiple theater security events in support of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. He returned from a successful deployment in April 2013.
Sergeant Marrs personal decorations include Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal 2nd Award, 1 Certificate of Commendation, 3 Meritorious Mast, 2 Certificate of Appreciation, 5 Letter of Appreciation.
