Josephine Gonzales, 88, of Las Vegas, joined the Lord and her loving husband on March 08, 2017.
She was born in East St. Louis where she grew up and attended McKinley High School in Chicago, Illinois. On the 28th of May, 1949 she married the love of her life, Anthony Gonzales. She soon began working at Wards Baking company then moving on to become a punch board telephone operator for the Bell Company. She remained in Chicago where between 1954 and 1961 she was blessed with three children: Debra, Mark and Ricky. It was in 1962 when the family decided to head west together and settle down in Southern California. Together they settled in Canoga Park. In 1964 she had another daughter, Denise.
Josephine was a devoted stay at home mother. In 1966, she decided to become a clerk for the United States Postal Service where she worked her way up to supervision. Josephine left the U.S.P.S. in 1985. She was a very private person and enjoyed being at home to raise her family.
Josephine is preceded in death in by her loving husband, Anthony Gonzales, her parents, Joseph and Mabel Milner and three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by daughter Debra Andrews, son Mark (Angie) Gonzales, son Ricky Gonzales and daughter Denise (Brian) LaFlamme. She also leaves behind five brothers: Joseph (Bud), Robert, Dave, Larry, Dale Milner and five sisters: Bonnie Longhini, Margie Homer, Marlys Bittles, Janice Milner, Desma Milner, eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:40 am, 22nd of March at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City with Father Tom of the Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Arrangements are made by Davis Funeral Home.
