Obituary for Kendell D. Bishop
In this obituary, parents mourn the loss of their son who passed away much too young at the age of 28. They ask readers to not only remember his beautiful spirit, but to remember to live life to the fullest because it’s much too short.
A beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Kendell D. Bishop left this world unexpectedly on April 12, 2020. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 12, 1991 to Blaze Bishop and Darla Kalling, Kendell attended Hayes ES, Fertitta MS and Spring Valley High School. He also attended classes at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN).
Kendell was a lover of sports, especially football and basketball. He started playing soccer and football at an early age but football was his passion. He started playing in the 3rd grade through high school. He had dreams of playing in college but injuries held him back his senior year in high school. His favorite NFL team was the Denver Broncos. Kendell’s other hobbies include travelling (especially to the beach), snowboarding, listening to music, hanging out and video gaming with friends.
Kendell had a great sense of humor. Although he was outgoing and vivacious, he was also introverted and introspective. He is appropriately nicknamed “KB,” a symbol of power and love. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family as well as respectful to all. We will always remember his infectious smile, piercing brown eyes, huge heart and caring personality. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed and especially by his little sister, Alexis, who adored him.
Kendell is preceded in death by Grandfathers, Lee Roy Bishop and Duane Lee Rogers.
Kendell is survived by his parents Blaze and Teena (Stepmom) Bishop, sister Alexis, Grandmother Mary Jo Bishop; aunts Sue Romans, Hedy Woodrow, Belinda (Clyde) Ignacio, Rosemarie (Gene) Santiago; uncles Angel (Vicky) Ancajas, Luis (Julie) Ancajas and many cousins.
He also leaves behind his parents, Darla and Danny (Stepdad) Kalling, brother Travis, Grandmother Connie Rogers; aunts, Debbie (James) LaRue, Dixie (Kelly) Smith, Cathy (Ron) Cunningham and Cori (Justin) Galetka, and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
