Kendra Keese

November 15, 1976 — October 13, 2021

Kendra Joy (James) Keese, 44, of Las Vegas, Nevada; (formerly of Martinsburg, WV), passed away on October 13, 2021 at the Spring Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Born November 15, 1976 in Kings Daughters Hospital, Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of Connie (Ron) Grosjean and the late William K. “Bill” James.

Kendra attended local schools and graduated from Martinsburg Sr. High School in 1996, and attended Shepherd University. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was employed by Berkeley Medical Center, as an OB Patient Care Tech were she retained many close ties, Shenandoah Community Health, as well as private duty care-giving. She later joined the staff of Kitzie’s and Green Frog Restaurants until moving to Las Vegas in 2017. She was currently employed at Buffalo Wild Wings in Las Vegas.

Though born and raised in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley; living in Las Vegas gave her another sense of nature’s beauty, as she loved the area of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone, in the Valley of Fire State Park.

Kendra was a loyal and devoted wife, daughter, granddaughter, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She kept in touch and remained in close contact with friends she had known since childhood. To Kendra, coming together with family and friends, in celebration of any occasion was of great importance to her. She truly loved her children, and her grandchildren, and treated all of their friends as if they were her own. Anyone who was Kendra’s friend, knew after a short time that they were like family to her.

Kendra’s Hallmark, (besides her curly red hair); may have quite easily been her sense of humor. One didn’t have a dreary day too long once she was a part of your life.

She is survived by husband, Curtis Keese, three children: Keely, Keaton, and Kennedy Clipp, two grandchildren, Finley Anne and Lincoln Avery Lee, a brother, Joses K. James, stepchildren, Isaiah and Sara Keese, Aunt’s Phyllis Smeltzer, Patricia (Lauren) Christophel, Rebecca (Mike) Linton, and Carol White; Mother-in-Law, Shirley Dufrane, as well as numerous cousins, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by Father, Bill James, Grandmother, Hilda Brown, Step-Father Jerry Shaffer, and Grandparents, Edwin & Eunice White.

A Celebration of Life service is currently being planned by the family at the Rosedale Chapel in Martinsburg, WV. and will be announced in upcoming days.
