Kenneth Thompson

Kenneth Robert Thompson, 69, of Las Vegas, died July 13, 2011 at St. Rose San Martin Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1942 in Colville, Washington to Robert P. and Mary S. Horrocks Thompson. On February 12, 1971 he married Cornelia Carswell and together they had six children.
Kenneth was a member of the United States Air Force where he served as a flight instructor in the T37 planes. In 1972 Kenneth joined his mother in ownership and operation of Romp and Play Child Care. He enjoyed flying, riding bikes , scouting and wood working. Kenneth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in which he served in numerous callings.
Survivors include his wife Cornelia children, Teri John Nitta, Scott Amy Thompson, Amy Dax Arriola, Todd Cassie Thompson, Suzanne Steve Robertson, and Tiffanie Jesus Avila and twenty grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints Canyon Gate Chapel, 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, NV 89117, visitation will be from 9:00 am until 9:45 at the church. Interment with military honors will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 9:20 am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
