Larayn Sorenson

LaRayn Karas Sorenson passed away peacefully in her home, on December 28, 2021.

LaRayn was born May 26, 1938 in Boulder City NV, to Thera and John Karas.

She was a talented artist, interior designer, entrepreneur - and the founder of Nest Featherings, in1980.  She thoroughly enjoyed her many years of work, improving and beautifying homes.

LaRayn was an amazing gardener. She loved creating and tending her gardens - finding joy in the beauty and miracle of the process. She generously shared her abundant produce as well as her extensive gardening skills.

Her greatest love and joy was in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, for whom she made family gatherings into beautiful memories and special traditions.

LaRayn is survived by five of her six children; Mona (Gregg) Carter,  Beth (Randy) Houk, Phillip (Christy) Hardy, Ellen (Frank) Lovaas,  Darryl (Janine) Hardy; twenty-two grand children, and forty-eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Sorenson, and her eldest daughter, Gwen (Reese) Abel.
