LARIOSTO CALCES PUNZALAN, known to family and friends as Larry, died on September 28, 2020, at the age of 69, with his family by his side, at Las Vegas, NV.
Larry was born on September 28, 1951, in Manila, Philippines, to Pacifico and Rosario Punzalan. He was the eldest of 6 children.
He attended Kamuning High School in the Philippines and continued his education at the University of the Philippines, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics.
He was the breadwinner of the family, previously a Manager from the Central Bank of the Philippines, where he worked for 30 years. Thereafter, Larry migrated with his family to Las Vegas, NV., where he worked for MGM Corporation as an Auditor for 10 years before retiring in June of 2018 at age 66.
Larry was a loving husband, a hardworking and doting father. He was an avid coffee drinker, so much so he even drinks it at night to make him sleep. He loved spending time bonding with his wife and children, taking them to the mall, watching movies, and eating at their favorite restaurants. He also enjoyed playing Mahjong, and slot machines at his favorite local bars and casinos.
After retirement, Larry found joy in sewing, baking, and cooking while watching YouTube videos to learn and follow new recipes. He also enjoyed watching basketball, football, and hockey with a light beer in his hand.
Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bing, and their children and their spouses, Carlo and Carmela, Toffee, Clarence and Anne, Veronica, and Vivian and Ryan; his stepchildren: Sheila and Jeff; his grandchildren: Jared, Cyana, Cariana, Caranzo, Julian, JM and Kaira. He is also survived by his siblings: Lute, Onie, Tessie, Thelma, and Liddy.
A fighter and warrior until the end, Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially his big heart and even bigger smile.
Funeral services will be held on October 3 and 4, 2020 at Davis Funeral Homes with the Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church. Arrangements for Inurnment will be made at a later date.
