LeRoy Tsuruzo Nitta passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 29, 1960 to Roy and Taeko Nitta in Inglewood, Calif. He was the fifth of seven children. He served a fulltime mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from 198082. Upon returning home, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Terrie Kenney Nitta, Oct. 13, 1984 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He received his degree from ASU in finance and mathematics. He loved doing anything that involved spending time with his family, playing sports, surfing, camping, boating, cycling, and coaching. He loved bragging about his children and was an enthusiastic fan of the LA Dodgers and Lakers. LeRoy is survived by his wife, of 27 years, Terrie their four children, Chelsea, Logan, Gavin and Pearce his parents, Roy and Taeko Nitta and Joan Kenney siblings, Liz, Rick Kim, Sherry Charles Saunders, John Teri, Kent Sarah, and Stephen Stacey Nitta and 22 nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, with memorial services following at 11 a.m., both at the Cimarron LDS Chapel, 5750 N. Cimarron Road, Las Vegas, NV 89149. Burial will be at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we would like donations to be given to the LDS General Missionary Fund. Checks can be made payable to the Meadows 8th Ward.
