Maria Villafane

Maria “Cherry” Villafane of Orange County, NY and Las Vegas, NV passed away in Las Vegas on October 25, 2021.

She was born September 06, 1948 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to parents Gabino, Sr. and Marta (nee Fuentes) Velazquez.

Maria graduated at 16 from High School.  She worked in NY State Parks & Recreation for many years.  She was an avid bingo player and loved fishing and camping also.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Victor Velazquez and Carlos M. Villafane, her first husband.

Cherry is survived by her partner, Theodore Alexander Collins; children, Carlos Burgos, Alma & Jose Pena, Jezel Rivera, Theodore Alexander Collins, II & his wife Jeanine, siblings Gabino Velazquez, Jr. and Carlos Velazquez, Sr.; parents Gabino Velazquez, Sr. & Marta Fuentes; grandchildren, Antonio Pena and his children Alexandria Pena and Antonio Pena, Jr., Anthony & Erin Adolino and their son, Anthony Adolino IV; Devin Carlos Pena, Jaime Collins, Jalen Collins, Juliana Rivera and Jocelyn Rivera and many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
