Martha Austin

January 29, 1938 — December 11, 2016

Martha passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday December 11, 2016 at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She battled cancer & fought tirelessly until God called her home. Martha was born in Murfreesboro, TN and was one of five children of the late George W. Haynes Sr. and Rosa A. Haynes. She was united in holy matrimony to Jerry K Austin Sr. in October of 1958 where they were blessed with five children. Her husband served in the United States Air Force which he served 23 years and they were fortunate to travel throughout the country and abroad before settling in Lompoc, California in 1978. Martha was a dedicated member of the choir and also dedicating her time as a Sunday school teacher.

Martha is survived by her husband: Jerry K. Austin, Sr. and five children: Linda Lucas, Jerry K. Austin, Jr., Terry L. Austin, Sr.(Laura), LaRhonda Austin, LaTonjaa Austin and God son ( Mark Nunnally). Brother: George W. Haynes, Jr. (Forestine), Sister: Queen Haynes and Uncle Chester A. Wade (Myrtle) ten grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by Ethel Haynes and Harvey Haynes, Sr. and Rosa A. Haynes, two Brothers Ethel Haynes and Harvey Haynes, Son-in-law Charles Lucas, Sr. and grandson Charles Lucas Jr.

Martha was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
