Mary Sue Hefner, 94, of Las Vegas, returned to our Heavenly Father, July 28, 2011. She was born in Gaddsen, Ala. Mary graduated with honors from St. Petersburg High School in 1934 and attended business college. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She was an accountant and executive secretary. Her last and favorite job was being the secretary for the Culinary and Bartenders Union, where she also dispatched jobs and was a union representative. In her youth, she was active in her church, PTA and many community organizations. She received the Good Citizens Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews in 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 52 years, Gibble Hefner. Mary is survived by her son, Gilbert Roy Hefner, his wife, Marlena and their children, April, Marla, Doug, Bruyere and Hugh and grandchildren, Tenile Little, Tiana Jackson, Tissany Jackson and Sianna Berosek, Olivia Simmers, Mallory Fabian and Taylor Bradshaw and greatgrandchildren, Elijah Naus and Jamie Foster. She is also survived by he daughter and soninlaw, Ellen and James Stuhmer and grandchildren, John Stuhmer, Susan Morris Stuhmer, Heidi Pattison soninlaw, Scott Pattison greatgrandchildren, Kevin, Karli, Nicole, Vanessa, Elijah and Saran Grace cousin, Ruth Grider and her son, Rev. Joseph Grider and family. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd.
