Mary Louise Sanchez, "mary lou" OBITUARY

10/18/1945 – 10/22/2021

Mary Louise Sanchez, affectionately known as "Mary Lou", 76, a longtime resident of Walnut, California entered eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Mountain View Hospital in North Las Vegas. Mary Lou was born on October 18, 1945 to Aurora and Pedro Sanchez in Los Angeles, California. Upon her graduation in June of 1963 from Our Lady Queen of Angels High School, Mary Lou received her cosmetology license at Marinello Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser at a salon. It was here that she would eventually meet her future Maid of Honor, Suzanna. Mary Lou changed careers and eventually worked at a bank where she distributed retirement checks.

In 1968, Mary Lou was invited to participate as a bridesmaid in a wedding; wherein she would meet a handsome groomsman named Alex Sanchez. Coincidentally, they both shared the same last name of Sanchez. Verifying that the two were not related, they successfully developed a lasting friendship which led to their marriage on May 2, 1970. Mary Lou said a time or two that she wanted to go on the record; she never changed her last name.  The fruitful marriage happily brought forth the birth of two boys, Christopher Alexander and Dominic Peter. After moving from El Monte to Walnut, California, Mary Lou dedicated her life to her family. Eventually, she volunteered her time working with Walnut Elementary Community Club where she participated in various projects. As her sons grew older, Mary Lou went back to work for a company called Hansel and Gretel which specialized in children’s clothes. She then moved

on to work for Lullaby Land in Chino, California. After a recommendation from her old boss, she switched gears and started to work for Nordstrom’s in Riverside then transferred to the store’s location in Brea, California where she worked in the Infants department, achieved Pace Setter and then made a home in the Customer Service department where she would eventually retire.

Mary Lou held many titles in her colorful life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, counselor, “Nannie” and friend. But most of all, a true and faithful servant of the Lord. She enjoyed may hobbies such as scrapbooking, cooking, shopping, book club at church, watching Hallmark movies and her cooking shows. Mary Lou never gave out her recipes because she didn’t want anyone to change the way the recipes came out. But her true joy was spending time with her mijos and watching her granddaughters grow up.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Alex Sanchez; her parents Pedro and Aurora Sanchez; and her brother Fernando Sanchez.

Mary Lou is lovingly survived by her two mijos, Christopher Alexander, his fiancé Marie and her two sons Dante and Armand; Dominic Peter, his wife Luzmila and their daughters, Celia Raquel, Aurora Matilde and Julia Teresita; her sisters, Dolores Porche, Celia Sanchez and Carol Perez and a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends who loved her dearly. May Mary Lou Sanchez rest in peace with Alex Sanchez. Amen.

She will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on Thursday, December 02, 2021 at 11:30am
